Hello Tax IQ User!
Welcome to the Personal Info module, the first step in taking charge of your tax journey with TAXIQ. Filing your own taxes has never been this straightforward. In this module, we'll guide you through the essential personal information needed to ensure accurate and seamless tax filing!
Ensure that your name matches the one on your Social Security card. If you've had a name change (due to marriage, for example), update it with the Social Security Administration.
Your SSN is a nine-digit number issued by the Social Security Administration. It's used to track your earnings and contributions to the Social Security system. If you don't have an SSN, you may use a TIN.
Provide your date of birth. This is important for verifying your identity and determining eligibility for certain tax credits.
Choose the correct filing status. Common options include:
Single: Unmarried or legally separated individuals.
Married Filing Jointly: Married couples combining their income on one return.
Married Filing Separately: Married couples filing separate returns.
Head of Household: Unmarried individuals with dependents.
Include your current mailing address. If you've moved during the tax year, ensure that your address is up to date.
If you have dependents, provide their names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers. Dependents can impact your eligibility for certain credits and deductions.
If you were divorced or legally separated during the tax year, provide information about your ex-spouse, such as their name and SSN.
If applicable, provide the SSN or TIN for any childcare providers for whom you're claiming the Child and Dependent Care Credit.
